When you look into the eyes of six-year-old Drew Myers of Tomahawk, you can't help but become captivated with his deep brown eyes. You sense that he is much wiser than other children his age. He has a compassionate heart, sweet nature and great sense of humor. Perhaps it's because at the tender age of three, this adorable little boy was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a form of brain cancer.
No parent wants to see their child sick and in pain. But imagine if your child was sick and no one could tell you why. For several years, Brad and Lisa Bratvold of Birchwood watched as their then eight-year-old daughter felt ill on and off. They took her to multiple doctors, receiving multiple diagnoses with no resolution. Then in February 2009, they made the three hour trip to Marshfield where she was diagnosed with Crohns Disease.
On the playground at Washington School, nine-year-old Marcus Solt is a typical boy playing tag, catch and soccer. But to his parents, Bryan and Stefanie of Marshfield, Marcus is nothing short of a miracle.
